Jip Lensink followed the Bachelor Cultural Anthropology and continued her studies with the Research Master Religious Studies, both at Utrecht University. Her Master thesis focused on the interrelation between theology and lived religion with a focus on traditional church music in the Moluccan Protestant church in the Central Moluccas. Music forms the core of her studies and research. Within the project "Materializing the study of religious texts and textual practices" she studies the role of hymn and psalm texts for the process of identity formation of Moluccan Christians in the Netherlands and the Central Moluccas.
