Eline Huygens is a religion, gender, and sexuality scholar, specializing in intimate life, relationships, and families. She works at the intersection of religious studies, gender studies, and feminist theory. She is a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University and KU Leuven.
Previously, she worked at Ghent University, where she was a PhD candidate and lecturer (2017-2023). She obtained a joint PhD (Ghent University and KU Leuven) in Gender and Diversity Studies and Religious Studies with a thesis entitled Living a Catholic life: Understanding the intimate lives of young Catholic women in Flanders.
She is also an editor at the academic journals Religion and Gender and Historica.
