Dr. Eline Huygens

Urban Geography

Eline Huygens conducts research at the intersection of religious studies and gender studies. She is a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University and is also affiliated to KU Leuven. She is currently researching parenting encounters, and on practices and narratives of boundary-making in everyday life settings. 

Previously, she worked at Ghent University, where she was a teaching assistant and PhD candidate (2017-2023). She obtained a joint PhD (Ghent University and KU Leuven) in Gender and Diversity Studies and Religious Studies with a thesis entitled Living a Catholic life: Understanding the intimate lives of young Catholic women in Flanders

She is also an editor at the academic journals Religion and Gender and Historica.
