Daan Scheepers obtained his PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Amsterdam in 2002 (title thesis: The social functions of in-group bias). Between 2004 and 2007 he worked as postdoc on a VENI grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO), and subsequently as assistant professor (2007-2013) and associate professor (2013-now) in Social, Economic, and Organisational Psychology at Leiden University. Next to this, since 2018, Daan works as a (part-time) professor of “psychophysiology of groups” at Utrecht University.
Daan served as a teaching director of the Kurt Lewin Institute (national graduate school in social psychology) from 2013-2015 and as an associate editor of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology from 2020-2024.
