Annemeik Schlatmann is project coordinator of the research project 'Religious Matters in an Entangled World' and lecturer Islamic Studies. 

Annemeik studied Arabic language and Middle Eastern Cultures (graduated cum laude in 2007) and did PhD research on the influence of Shiite religious regulations on the religious practice and social life of young Shiite Muslims in the Netherlands. She obtained her PhD in 2016 with the dissertation entitled 'Shi'i Muslim youth in the Netherlands; negotiating Shi'i fatwas and rituals in the Dutch context '.
