Lotte Gerritsen, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology.

Short CV:

Dr. Gerritsen received her PhD at Utrecht University in Clinical Epidemiology, completed a postdoc at the Donders Center for Cognitive Neuroimaging in Nijmegen and a postdoc at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, for the latter she received a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship.

She has previsouly been awarded a Veni fellowship from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research and worked as an assistant professor at the department of Psychiatry of the VU medical Center in Amsterdam.

Research focus:

The overarching aim of her work is to clarify how biomarkers could be useful in clinical psychology. Currently, she is combining sex hormones, stress hormones, neuroimaging (EEG, MRI) and behavioral data to understand individual differences in emotion regulation and stress sensitivity using a lifespan approach.

Previous work includes how stress interacts with several biomarkers (including telomere length, DNA methylation and genetics) on neuropsychiatric outcomes (e.g. depression, cognitive decline, structural brain) and cross-sectional neuroimaging of depression and childhood trauma.

She is also much interested in aging and philosophy of mind.
