Ineke Lam is connected to Utrecht University, the Netherlands since 1981. At that moment she started her study Sociology. After her study she started her career as a researcher (PhD-student) at the same faculty. This resulted in a doctoral dissertation on ‘The myth of the Empty Nest’ in 1994. After finishing her PhD, Ineke switched from the faculty of Social Sciences to IVLOS, Institute of Education at the same university. First, she was involved in various research projects in secondary and higher education. Since 1999 she became more involved in consultancy work in higher education, mainly in ICT-related projects. She got her consultancy qualification in 2001. In the same year Ineke became the coordinator of the Centre for ICT in Education, a part of IVLOS. In 2007 this Centre was merged with the team ‘Educational Development’ and Ineke became the manager of this team.

Since 1st January 2011 the training and consultancy part of IVLOS operates as Educational Consultancy & Professional Development, which translates academic insights into the daily practice of teaching. Ineke has been project manager of various local, national and international projects. Her main fields of expertise are curriculum development, ICT and blended learning, professional development of teachers, trainers and professionals. In 2021 Ineke quit her management responsibilities and shift her focus to the Graduate School of Teaching. Currently she is projectleader of the national Alfa4all-project (https://alfa4all.nl) and involved in Life Long Learning in the Graduate School of Teaching.

Next to her professional activities Ineke’s main passion in life is flyfishing for salmon and sea trout in Norway, and flyfishing for artic char in Greenland. She is a member of the Dutch Women Fly Fishers (Facebook: Dutch Women Fly Fishers -DWFF).
