Grants, loans and scholarships

Utrecht University, the Dutch Government and other organisations offer scholarships, fellowships and grants. Below is a list of the scholarships that are most often used by international students studying in Utrecht. 
Note that the scholarship options for programmes starting in February are limited.

BA means Bachelor’s programme and MA means Master’s programme.

Utrecht Excellence Scholarship

  • For outstanding graduates from University College Utrecht and Economics & Business Economics
Canadian student loans

Fullbright/ NAF
  • For MA
  • For students from United States and non-US students
NFP
  • For BA & MA
  • Citizens from developing countries.
    Apply for admission to Utrecht University before December 1, 2012.
CSC
US Federal Loans
  • For BA & MA
  • For students from the United States

  • For outstanding students that apply for Master's programmes offered by the Graduate School of Geosciences.

Bachelor students
A limited number of grants and scholarshipare available for Bachelor students. We recommend that you check with organisations in your own country. You can also check the Grantfinder website mentioned above.

Master students
Please note that scholarships are mainly targeted at students with very high results. We recommend that you also look for funds in your own country and through the Grantfinder website mentioned above.

Exchange
Exchange and visiting students are not eligible for a grant or scholarship from Utrecht University, but your home university may have programmes that you can apply for.
