Master's programmes

Veterinary and Molecular Pathology

Veterinary and Molecular Pathology is one of the three post-graduate Master’s programmes offered by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University is the only veterinary faculty in the Netherlands and holds a leading position internationally in both education and research.

Graduates of the Master’s programme in Veterinary and Molecular Pathology have acquired special knowledge of veterinary diseases, mainly in the study of pathogenetic mechanisms but also in the morphological aspect of diseases. You will gain expertise in basic and specialised molecular techniques used in researching animal disease. Such expertise at the theoretical and practical level will be obtained by hands-on exposure and training in the laboratory during the research project, in addition to formal and informal classes throughout your studies. Experience in animal pathology is gained during specialised classes and practical work in the Veterinary Pathology Diagnostic Center.

This post-graduate course is aimed at veterinary medicine graduates who have at least one year of professional experience in animal pathology or disease diagnosis.
