Paulien de Morree is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Constitutional, Administrative Law and Legal Theory. As SIM Fellow she is also involved with the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM). She studied Interdisciplinary Social Science (M.Sc) and Law (LL.M, cum laude) at Utrecht University. After her studies she contributed as a junior researcher to a research project on parliamentary immunity in several European legal orders funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and worked for the Meijers Committee, the Standing Committee of Experts on International Immigration, Refugee and Criminal Law. In October 2016 she defended her PhD on the prohibition of abuse of rights in Article 17 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
