PhD programme

The PhD Programme of nanophotonics is part of the PhD programme of the Debye Institute for Nanomaterials Science. The PhD programme of the institute aims at the highest level of education for its PhD students who are active in one of the research groups.

The basis for the programme is an individual training and supervision plan. This plan contains the number and content of courses that the student will follow, a complete description of the research program, and his/her participation in the teaching program of the University.

All PhD students follow the bi-annual Spring School on one of the research themes of the Institute, which is organized by staff members of the Institute, and the DO!-days, a bi-annual informative and social meeting, organized by a representative student committee, the Debye AIO Commissie (DAC).

The programme also offers a number of generic and competence courses, such as Presenting in English, Academic writing in English, Organization and leadership for PhD students, Planning and self management.

More information can be read in Postgraduate Research Projects booklet.
