Research

We do not aim to disqualify animal research, and we recognise that a transition to animal-free models is still difficult to achieve in some areas of research. Rather than as a threat, the 3RCU should be considered as an opportunity to facilitate working on the challenges ahead.

The philosophy of the 3RCU is to support ideas with data, and we facilitate as much targeted action as possible together with the researchers. We provide researchers with centralized information and 3Rs tools, as well as the ability to generate data collaboratively. This integrated approach is clearly reflected in the organisation of working groups. Working group members are supported with centrally managed information, reagents, interns, acquisition assistance, and bench space if necessary.
