Dr. Zeshi Li (Jack) did his undergraduate study in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Peking University, China (2009-2013). He went to the United States for his graduate study and joined the Department of Chemistry at University of Georgia (2013-2015). He then joined Professor Geert-Jan Boons lab at Utrecht University (2016-2020), performing research on the chemoenzymatic synthesis of O-acetylated sialic acid. He defended his thesis with cum laude distinction. He then moved on to perform his post-doctoral research at LUMC and partly TUDelft (2021-2022), working on a brand new biological phenomenon, cell-surface localized RNA. He now is a tenure-track assistant professor at the group of Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery (2023), developing chemical tools to study RNA biology.
