Vinzenz Bäumer Escobar is a PhD-candidate at the department of cultural anthropology at Utrecht University. His research focuses on the everyday construction of alternative networks and organizations in Catalonia, and the complex ways in which economic modalities are being contested and (re)produced in Southern-Europe after the 2008 financial crisis. His interests lie broadly in the fields of economic and political anthropology: focusing on alternative organizational forms, social contestation, and performativity.  

He holds a Bachelor Degree in History from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and an MSc in Cultural Anthropology (cum laude) from the University of Utrecht.
