Gravitational Waves, Strong Gravity, Compact Objects

Gravitational waves are a new cosmic messenger, and a vibrant field of research with an exciting future. My research focuses on modeling of the gravitational waves from merging binary systems. Theoretical models are essential to interpret the signals from these sources. Among my interests are to use gravitational waves as probes of subatomic matter at extremes of density and pressure with neutron stars, the nature of black holes and gravity itself, and new physics beyond the standard model.
