Sjors Overman has been working at the Utrecht School of Governance since 2016. His research focuses on public accountability, emotions, and (boards of) semi-public organizations. He also works on the development of measurement scales in survey research. 

Apart from his research, Sjors teaches methods and statistics and policy analysis in bachelor, minor, and research master, and he supervises MA theses.

Before starting his work at Utrecht University, he wrote his dissertation at Radboud University (Nijmegen, NL), entitled: Great Expectations of Autonomous Agencies. He graduated in 2011 from the USG Research Master.
