The research activities of Sergei Cherniak (or Chernyak, in publications) include the design and development of new nanomaterials, especially carbon ones, new catalytic systems, and thermal catalytic hydrogenation of carbon oxides. The studies of structural evolution of the catalysts and supports during their preparation, activation, tests, and deactivation are of interest, as well as the development of new catalytic pathways for sustainable CO2 conversion.
