Remme Verkerk is jointly responsible for courses in the area of civil procedure.

Civil procedure in essence concerns the “rules of the game” once a dispute is put before a court. These rules serve to ensure litigation is conducted in an orderly and fair manner. The detailed rules on dispute resolution all too often touch upon larger questions, such as those the role on institutions in democratic society, the resolution of economic disputes and the ways in which society deals with financial distress.
