I'm a PhD candidate in ERC Synergy MARIX project. This project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the geochemistry group of Utrecht University and the microbiology group of Radboud University. The aim of the project is to gain more understanding of the removal of methane and ammonium in coastal marine environments. My research focuses on the pathways of methane removal in the water column of coastal systems with seasonally changing redox conditions. Next to methane, I'm also interested in the dynamics of various trace metals and their impact on biogeochemical cycles in coastal environments.
