Mitali is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Energy and Resources section of Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development in the Just Positive Energy Planning Processes (JUST PEPP) project. Her expertise is in GIS and remote sensing for urban and environmental applications. Her research areas include urban planning, green roofs, urban heat island mitigation, ecological networks, flood vulnerability analysis and disaster risk reduction. She has recently obtained a PhD in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Liège in Belgium. During her PhD, she worked on assessing the role of realistic roof greening in improving urban climate and habitats using various city-scale approaches.
