Mehdi Sajid studied Islamic Studies and Philosophy at the University of Bonn, where he obtained his MA degree in 2008 (magna cum laude) and his PhD degree in 2015 (magna cum laude). His thesis is entitled: "Muslims in Interwar Europe and the Deconstruction of the Fascination with the West. A critical reading of Shakib Arslan's articles in the Egyptian journal al-Fath (1926-1935)".
