He obtained a BSc in Forestry from the University of Chile, following studies at Queensland University, and a MSc in Hydrology and Quantitative Water Management from Wageningen University and Research in 2020.

He has experience consulting and researching in Chile. He developed research in soil, carbon, and water dynamics at the soil laboratory of the University of Chile. Also with the University of Queensland-International Center of Excellence in Chile.

As part of his master's, he worked on hydrological extremes, focusing on assessing satellite data for data assimilation on flooding in the Rhine basin. In January 2021, he started a PhD at Utrecht University, Department of Physical Geography, quantifying drought impacts and the recovery of water resources.
