Sustainable Energy Supply Systems
PhD Candidate
Biobased Economy

After completing a Bachelors degree in Global Sustainability Science and a Masters degree in Energy Science, both at Utrecht University, I have worked for seven months as a junior researcher at the Energy & Resources group of the Copernicus Institute, contributing to several projects. My main research was modelling pumped hydro electricity storage in an energy system model, and incorporating environmental impacts into a techno-economic optimization model.

As of May 2024, I am a PhD-candidate, working in an international and interdisciplinary research project in close collaboration with South African partners. My work package focuses on the impacts of climate change on spatial inequality in water-energy-food security in South Africa. I will focus on coupling of hydrology, energy and crop models and climate projections on the scale of rural South Africa.
