Master/Bachelor thesis: For MSc. or BSc. students, if you are interested in using the following methods, you are welcome to discuss them with me (h.lu@uu.nl) in advance.

1) Survey design & statistical analysis (regression, structural equation model, time series analysis) to explore causal relationships between variables. Data availability: given the limited time (students usually have to complete their thesis and internship in the same period), finding open-sourced dataset, for instance: https://www.centerdata.nl/, would be a more feasible solution compared with collecting survey data by yourself (the survey response rate is very low nowadays, worldwide). You need to be skilled in SPSS, Stat (and online survey platforms such as Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey if you want to collect data by yourself).

2) Social media data analysis and text mining: to scrape (using tools such as SNScrape/ScrapeStorm) data from social media websites on your interested topic and conduct text mining research, using skills such as Latent Dirichlet Allocation, or Biterm topic modeling (you need to be skilled in python or R).

3) Social network analysis: to use social network theories to analyze topics such as inter-department collaboration and power relationships in a network (you need to be skilled in software such as Gephi or UCINET).
