Few interventions are known for their efficacy in particular in refugee children after war violence and migration. Nevertheless, the number of refugees have never been as high as it is now. This study uses a randomized controlled trial to examine the efficacy of two trauma-focused interventions in refugee children between 8 and 18 years. The children live in one of the asylumseeker-centers in the Netherlands.

In a project financed by Kinderpostzegels this prevention method is being tested in two types of centers, asylum-seekers centers and family-locations (where refugee families without further legal prospect of permit to stay reside) employing a predominantly qualitative method.
