Geochemistry

I am a PhD-researcher, who studied Geosciences (BSc & MSc) at the University of Bonn. I am is inspired by the environment and geology of the Eifel, my home region. My education touched on different Earth-related topics and resulted in a broad range of research interest within the fields of geochemistry and mineralogy:

- The role of weathering and erosion in the global carbon cycle

- Biogeochemical reactions in rivers and oceans

- Corrosion/Alteration reactions in aqueous solutions (solid-fluid interactions)

- Database collection, curation and evaluation (riverine suspended matter composition)

- Geochemical and statistical models

- Experimental mineralogy & Raman spectroscopy

- Non-linear processes and feedbacks from microscopic to global scales

However, I do not state, that I am already an expert in all of these fields, but I consider all of these subjects interesting, important and continuously try to understand them and to identify connections between them. The long-term goal is a basic understanding of processes and transformation occuring at Earths surface, where different reservoirs/spheres interact, thereby shaping our planetary conditions, including climate, life and landscape evolution.
