The intellectual curiosity of the early days as a student brought me to explore law, political science and philosophy. I found my inspiration along the invisible lines that connect Rome with Oxford. One way to appreciate the inter-disciplinary approach, which I cherish, is to never forget that in spite of their conventional characters, however blurred, disciplinary boundaries are significant and cannot just be set aside on account of mere desire. In my teaching activities, I am guided by three imperatives: what can be said at all, can be said clearly; we are like dwarfs on the shoulders of giants; the theses I disagree with must be explored first and foremost, the ones I agree with only at the end, if there is time. In my research activities, I am guided by one fundamental intuition: those who come last do not not necessarily know it better than those who came first. As far as law is concerned, I am particularly interested in: the historical development of the the legal as a field of theory and practice; the public-private divide; constitutions and codifications; theories of justice. As far as philosophy is concerned, I am particualrly interested in: the classics of philosophical thought; phenomenology; heremeneutics. As far as political science is concerned, in spite of being familiar with nearly all sub-disciplinary fields, my main focus of interest is political theory. In recent years I had the chance to deepen my understanding of psychonalasis.
