My PhD project concerns the history of the Freudenthal Institute and the development of subject specific pedagogy (SSP, or vakdidactiek).

The current institute comprises several (research) groups that have their roots in the second half of the twentieth century. My project focusses on the history of science and mathematics education research, and the institute’s role within that history.

In this context, I am interested in the process of establishing authority and expertise, as well as the cooperation of academics and non-academics in education development and research.
