Debbie van Bommel received her bachelor degree in Pedagogical and Educational Sciences at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and her master degree in the research master Development and Socialisation in Childhood and Adolescence (DaSCA, cum laude; best student award of the year) at Utrecht University.

She has worked as an independent researcher since March 2019. In October 2020 she started as lecturer for the bachelor Pedagogical Sciences.
