Darko Lagunas is an environmental sociologist and ethnographic researcher. For the past 5 years he has worked on transdisciplinary projects outside of academia. At the Embassy of the North Sea he developed an immersive ethnographic research praxis. Darko has published several investigative journalist articles on the extractive practices and socio-ecological impacts of mining for the energy transition. At the Urban Futures Studio, Darko works on a doctoral research project that aims to study the dimensions of coloniality in energy transition discourses and material flows. From decolonial perspectives and working together with art-sciences, Darko aims to better understand how worlds are (un)made, while studying pathways for climatic pluriverses.
