I dream of a time that people feel more connected to the water authority they live in, than to their municipality. Water is vital for life. Therefore I consider myself a resident of the water authority of the Stichtse Rijnlanden, first and of Utrecht, second. Which water authority do you live in?

In previous jobs at Hoogheemraadschap de Stichtse Rijnlanden and Gemeente Westland, I have learned about successes and difficulties of effective and innovative water (quality) management. As a PhD student, my team and I investigate actions that stakeholders can take to improve water quality governance in the Netherlands. The project is commissioned by STOWA, so I will also be working with and for practitioners.
