Dr. Carina Prunkl is Assistant Professor for Ethics of Technology at Utrecht University. She works on the ethics and governance of Artificial Intelligence with a focus on algorithmic fairness, autonomy, and community governance. Dr. Prunkl frequently engages with international organisations, policy makers, and companies to implement responsible AI, including UNICRI, the UK Ministry of Defence, the UK Embassy in Mexico, Digital Catapult, and the Global Association for Risk Professionals.

Dr. Prunkl previously worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Institute for Ethics in AI. She holds a BSc and MSc in Physics, as well as an MSt in Philosophy of Physics and a DPhil in Philosophy.
