Cindy Schrader (1991) studied Earth Sciences at Utrecht University and works as a PhD researcher within the Stratigraphy/Paleontology group. She studies the climate of the Early Eocene (~50-55 million years ago). For this, she uses and generates stable isotope data from the calcite tests of planktic foraminifera. One of the main aims of her research is to investigate the link between the carbon cycle (using stable carbon isotopes) and the temperature (using stable oxygen isotopes) on Earth during the EECO ("Early Eocene Climatic Optimum"). She does this on both short (hyperthermal) and longer time scales.
