Barry graduated with a MSc in Zoology in 2019 from the University of Pretoria. Thereafter he completed a MSc Earth Surface and Water at Utrecht University. As of July 2022, he is a PhD candidate in the GEOWAT project and is supervised by Prof. dr. ir. Marc Bierkens & Dr. ir. Niko Wanders.
