Alessio Devis is a PhD candidate in Public International and EU law at the Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law (UCWOSL) at the Law Faculty of Utrecht University. His current research focuses on the regulation of the energy transition in the North Sea. More precisely, the research looks at how to guarantee and steer the sustainable development of renewable in the North Sea by legally enhancing regulatory integration, adaptation, and precaution. Alessio is carrying out his research under the NWO-funded ‘ECOAMARE’ project focusing on ecosystem-based adaptive management for renewable energies.
