Currently, I am investigating the idea of a queer critique by centering on the work and thought of French philosopher Michel Foucault, on how U.S. scholars Judith Butler and Eve K. Sedgwick understand queer critical practices, and on new strands in queer and literary theory such as 'postcritique', the project of a 'reparative reading', or the idea of a 'queer critique without antinormativity'. I am focusing on how critique as such is thought of and practiced by queer intellectuals and movements, as well as how it is being (and ought to be) reconsidered vis-à-vis the current attacks on feminism, gender studies, and the humanities in general.
