Teaching activities (after completion of doctorate)
Since completing her doctorate in September 2009, Anna has been involved in teaching at bachelor’s, master’s and post-graduate levels; lecturing for large groups (of over 500 students at bachelor’s level) and in smaller settings (5-75 students), teaching seminars, participating in expert meetings, supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses (in Dutch and English), and giving many tailored courses to professionals. In addition to coordinating several individual courses, including multidisciplinary courses, she was programme leader of the one-year master’s in Law and Economics – an interdisciplinary international Master’s in English, until 2018. This programme was ranked best in its category in the Netherlands in the following year. Between 2015 and 2016 Anna was also asked to function as Interim-Dean of the Legal Research master, a prestigious two-year master programme. In the following year, this programme was ranked highest in its category in the Netherlands as well.
In 2011 she was selected to partake in the prestigious one-year CEUT (Centre for Excellence in University Teaching) course on Academic Leadership. In 2015 Anna became a member of the board of the CEUT.
In September 2013 she was appointed Teaching Fellow of Utrecht University, a two-year position for lecturers involved in innovation of university teaching. She was also Onderwijscoördinator IER (Teaching Coordinator of the International and European Law Division) until January 2014, and member of the Opleidingscommissie masters (Master’s Programme’s Committee) until 2017, after which she chaired this Committee. In addition, she is co-founder of the Teaching Academy Utrecht University (Tauu.uu.nl), and member of temporary commissions relating to the curriculum and/or teaching activities. Between 2018 and 2019 Anna was Director of Master’s Programmes of the School of Law, until she was asked to take up the responsibility of Director of Research of the Law School.
Furthermore, she has participated and organised several international summer schools, including two summer schools at Fudan University, Shanghai.
Anna holds both the BKO (Basic Qualification of Education) and the SKO (Senior Qualification of Education) certificates. Outside Utrecht University she is involved in national and international professional training projects, e.g. training programmes for the judiciary, the prestigious Grotius Academy, and the Academie voor Wetgeving and Overheidsjuristen. She has also advised on the Nieuwe Stagiaire Opleiding, the new training programme for members of the Dutch bar.
