Arnaud Thevenon received his Master’s degrees from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2013. During his undergraduate studies, he worked with Prof. Gabor Laurenczy, on mechanistic studies on the decomposition of formic acid catalyzed by Ru phosphine complexes. He then completed his Master thesis in the group of Prof. Paula Diaconescu, at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), on the development of group IV redox-active catalysts for the polymerization of cyclic lactones. Then, Arnaud moved to the University of Oxford, in the group of Prof. Charlotte Williams, where he obtained his PhD on the development of main group homogeneous catalysts for the synthesis of oxygenated polymers. After completion of his PhD in 2018, Arnaud joined the group of Prof. Theodor Agapie at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellow. His research focused on the development of hybrid heterogeneous Cu electrodes coated with organic films for the selective electroconversion of CO₂-to-fuels. At the end of 2020, he moved back to Europe to complete his Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship in the group of Prof. Stefan Mecking, at the University of Konstanz, where he worked on the development of lanthanide-based catalysts for olefin polymerization. Since 2021, Arnaud is affiliated with the University of Utrecht as a guest researcher. He will join the Organic Chemistry and Catalysis group during the summer 2021 as a tenure track assistant professor.
