Nathalie is a Researcher and PhD candidate at the Ministry of Defence of the Netherlands, Research Institute TNO and Utrecht University. She is currently writing a doctorate dissertation about overt cyber influence operations in irregular warfare, case study Islamic State. Has an academic background in American Studies as well as Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Experienced in research, project planning, leadership and event planning & hosting. Knowledgeable of cyber influence activities, Islamic State conflict, strategic communications, national identity, US Islamophobia and US National Defense Policies. Lived in England and the United States of America for multiple years, and has an international perspective. Work experience with, among others, the Royal Netherlands Defense Academy, TNO, the Thai Energy Research Institute and casting agency A Million Faces.
