Liselotte den Boer is an Assistant Professor of Developmental Psychology at Utrecht University. She earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at Tilburg University, where she studied how the transition to working life shapes identity and personality development during young adulthood.
Liselotte’s research centers on how people come to understand who they are and how this shapes their lives. She is particularly interested in personality and identity development, how their development is influenced by both individual and contextual factors, and how these processes relate to psychosocial adjustment. Through this work, she aims to uncover why some individuals flourish while others face challenges, and how such insights can inform interventions that promote psychosocial adjustment.
In addition to her research, Liselotte is an experienced lecturer with a broad range of experience across multiple educational levels (bachelor’s and master’s), areas within psychology (fundamental and clinical), and teaching formats. Her work includes advising colleagues on teaching, developing new courses and course materials, coordinating courses, delivering lectures and tutorials, as well as providing individualized instruction such as internship supervision and tutoring.
