The PhD project Larike worked on part-time (0.8 fte) is called Research-based teacher education, supervised by professor Jan Vermunt, dr. Paulien Meijer and dr. Bob Koster. The project revolves around the interplay between teacher education pedagogies and the nature of student teacher learning and development. By means of a formative intervention the research aims to increase our understanding of how student teachers’ meaning-oriented learning and deliberate practice can be stimulated in dual teacher education programs. In light of this aim, affordances of different research designs and methodologies has been explored. 

2010 – 2013 Junior assistant professor Department of Education, Utrecht University 

Larike has taught various courses in the teacher education program, among which General Pedagogy and Practice-Based Research. She has supervised master students’ practice-based research projects, one of which won the price for the best thesis as well as research master students final thesis. She has collaborated in designing, implementing and evaluating innovations in the teacher education program, including the electronic portfolio, the practice-based research curriculum and the “School Adoption” (intensive internship) project. She completed her Basis Kwalificatie Onderwijs (BKO; Basis teacher qualification) in 2013.
