Biotechnologist specialized in regenerative medicine, I have developed a great interest in the safety of stem cell-based products for their use in clinics, topic of my current PhD project that I am undertaking at the Regenerative Medicine Centre of Utrecht. I aim to shed light into what makes a stem cell-based therapy or product (un)safe for their use in patients, always aiming to do so using an animal-free methodology that could benefit not only the patients but also the future of biomedical research in our nation-wide goal to avoid animal use in research.
