My current goal is to assist researchers of the University Medical Center to develop novel medicines, technology and treatments using the possibilities that the EU and national governments provide with their grants and subsidies. The ultimate goal is to provide better care for veterinary patients and to stimulate translation from fundamental (animal) research to human patients.
Currently i'm the strategic Programme Manager with the Research Office of the UMC Utrecht. I'm the former head of the RSO of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the UU, i have been the EU liaison officer of Utrecht Life Sciences and I was the first elected chair of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators in the Netherlands (ARMA-NL).

I'm an EU funding specialist with a BSc in Biotechnology, an MSc in Food Technology and an PhD in Environmental Microbiology. I have broad knowledge on microbiology and life sciences & health complemented with experience in obtaining large and complex EU grants. I have a track record of successful grant applications in the field of Health, MedTech, Water technology, ICT, Life Sciences and Environmental technologies.

Specialties: 
"Soft": Management, Policy advisor, Grants advisor, FP7, Horizon 2020, EU and national (Dutch) subsidies, knowledge management, advising skills, oral presenting, business development and strategic consultancy. 
"Hard": Environmental technology, environmental and food-microbiology, enzymology, fermentation, knowledge of a wide range of microbiological (DNA, RNA, blotting, PCR) and chemical analysis (Maldi-TOF, LC-MS/MS, etc) techniques.
