Barbara Vis is Professor of Politics & Governance at Utrecht University School of Governance (USG), where she co-chairs USG's Public Governance group. Previously, she among other things served as program co-director of the two-year research master programme Research in Public Administration and Organisational Science.
Her main teaching and research interests are in political judgment and decision making, political psychology, comparative political economy (especially welfare state research), and political methodology (especially Qualitative Comparative Analysis [QCA]). Between 2023-2028, a lot of her research takes place in the context of her ERC Consolidator project RADIUNCE ; full title: Politicians under Radical Uncertainty: How Uncertain Phenomena Influence Political Elites’ Behavior.
