My teaching includes

  1. course “Advanced Superstructures: Scattering and Microscopy” (ASSM) for 3rd-year chemistry students
    • coordinator
    • Theory of Waves
    • Scattering
  2. course “Advanced Physical Chemistry” (FC3) for 3rd-year Bachelor and Master students
    • part on Physical Chemistry of Interfaces
  3. course “Nanomaterials: Catalysis, Colloids, Nanophotonics” (NCCN) within the Master program Nanomaterials: Chemistry and Physics
    • coordinator
    • introductory lecture
    • Topical paper supervisor (3 groups of 3-4 students)
  4. course “Structure of materials” for 2nd-year Physics students
    • guest lecture / tutorial
  5. (co)supervision of research projects of Bachelor and Master students, usually along with PhD students
  6. organisation of joint Utrecht-ESRF research projects. I also often act as tutor/cosupervisor in these projects.

A citation from the students' evaluation of the ASSM course in 2016: "Andrei is een erg enthousiaste docent. Het is een feest om naar zijn colleges te gaan, zelfs op vrijdagochtend. Erg leuk om een docent te hebben die met zo veel passie kan vertellen over zijn vak!" The emphasized text says that it is a feast to come to Andrei's lectures, even on Friday in the morning. I do not know who of the students wrote this but it is very pleasant to hear such a reaction and it motivates me to do my teaching even better next time.
