HR director at Utrecht University

Aletta Huizenga has a background in Social Sciences. She started in the HR profession at the Faculty of Humanities and has been HR director since December 2014. 

Aletta leads the HR domain within the UU. The HR department at the university level consists of four departments: HR Expertises and ISD, HR Development, HR Processes and Systems and HR Services. The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion program is also part of the HR department. Important themes are also leadership development, social safety and internationalisation.

She is a member of the Recognition and Rewards working group at Utrecht University and of the coordinating consultative body for the universities and UMCs at the national Recognition and Rewards program. Until recently Aletta was chairwoman of the HR directors of the Dutch Universities, now she is a member of the CAO delegation. Aletta Huizenga is a member (of the steering committee) of The Careers of researchers & HR Policy Group of The League of European Research Universities (LERU).
