Akshita Chembolu is a Junior Lecturer at Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.). She has worked on courses for entrepreneurship, strategy and organisation, microeconomics, mathematics, academic writing and research skills, with experience in coordinating courses. She is an alumnus of U.S.E having obtained a research master's degree in Multidisciplinary Economics and is an awardee of the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship - LEGITS for 2020–2022. She received her bachelor’s degree with honours from the Jindal School of Governance and Public Policy in India. During her master’s study, she held roles as a research and student assistant. Her research assistantship resulted in the publication of Thinking Bigger: How ambitious is the Dutch entrepreneur?, in collaboration with TechLeap. As an extension, her research focused on social entrepreneurship, gender inequalities, and societal impact under the Entrepreneurship section of U.S.E. Akshita successfully completed her master’s dissertation titled, “Examining the Relationship Between Entrepreneurial Perceptions and the Gender Gap in Social Entrepreneurship.” (manuscript version). Before this, Akshita has a bachelor’s background in economics, with a focus on governance and public policy.
She aims to extend her academic journey towards research aiming to establish a mixed-methods approach for understanding the role of prosocial motivations, compassion and altruism in the decision-making and networks of social entrepreneurship for meaningful societal impact at local and regional levels. She is currently obtaining her BKO from U.S.E.
