I am an urban and health geographer with a geographic information science background at the Department for Human Geography and Spatial Planning, Utrecht University, which I joined mid-2013. Prior my appointment at Utrecht University, I was an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at the Geographic Information Science group at Heidelberg University, Germany, where I was also awarded with the venia legendi (habilitation) in human geography in 2015. Before this I was a visiting scholar at the Louisiana State University, USA, and worked at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. In 2009 I obtained my Ph.D. (summa cum laude) at the University of Vienna which was funded through an Austrian Academy of Sciences grant for young academics.
