Christian Kehl is a postdoctoral researcher at IMAU, working on high-performance optimization of oceanic particle simulations within the TOPIOS project. His academic background is in Computational Geoscience, with a wide spectrum of application in sustainable energy and environmental sustainability. His geovisualisation research aims at improving communication between researchers and science communication to the public. Christian started his academic career at TU Delft in 2012 after graduating with M.Eng (cum laude) at the Hochschule Wismar (Germany). He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (summa cum laude) in 2017 at Universitetet i Bergen (Norway).

His main research interest is the design, implementation, extension and optimisation of algorithms that integrate observational data (e.g. from remote sensing or domain expert interpretation) in deterministic- and stochastic simulations of dynamic systems (such as fluid flow) as well as uncertain static systems (such reservoir architectures), and the visualisation of those systems on modern, easily-accessible platforms.
