She coordinates and teaches courses of the Minor Criminology (e.g. Introduction Criminology) and the MA Global Criminology (e.g. Cultural Criminology) and supervises master theses and PhD projects. As assistant professor in Anthropology (2003-2009) she earned a grant for talented young teachers and she was chosen ‘best teacher of the year’ by her anthropology students in 2008. In 2018 and 2019 she received a faculty USO grant for research innovation in order to develop, respectively, film analysis and the production of short video's as a learning tools for students. She currently is engaged with a UU broad, USO funded, innovative project called Visualising Difference (with Vassilis Gerasopoulos - REBO, Domitila Olivieri - Humanities, and Yvon van der Pijl - Social Sciences), in which students learn to produce counter-hegemonic, short films on the crossroads of migration, crime, gender and sexuality.
